About Parekh Eye Clinic
An ophthalmology clinic built around careful examination.
Parekh Eye Clinic has provided eye care in Mumbai since 1993. The clinic is led by Dr. Mukul Parekh, who founded it, and Dr. Kshitij Mukul Parekh — both M.S. ophthalmologists — and runs from two branches in Ghatkopar East and Vikhroli East.
Every visit starts with a comprehensive eye examination. Treatment — whether cataract surgery, glaucoma management, corneal care, a LASIK evaluation or a child's first eye test — is planned only after your eyes have been assessed and the options explained in plain language.
- Comprehensive eye check-ups for all ages
- Medical and surgical ophthalmology under one roof
- Personal, honest advice on timing and options
- Two branches in eastern Mumbai, Mon–Sat 9 AM–9 PM

Cataract
Cataract surgery planned around your eyes.
A cataract clouds the eye’s natural lens. Surgery removes it and places a clear intraocular lens — usually as a day-care procedure. At Parekh Eye Clinic the decision on timing and lens type follows a detailed pre-operative evaluation.
- Surgery is advised when the cataract interferes with daily life — not simply because one is present.
- Monofocal, toric and multifocal lens options explained before you decide.
- Follow-up visits support healing; many patients notice clearer vision within days.

- Pre-operative evaluation
Technique, lens choice and recovery vary with each eye. Outcomes are not guaranteed.
LASIK
LASIK begins with an evaluation, not a decision.
LASIK reshapes the cornea with a laser and may reduce dependence on glasses or contact lenses. Whether it is suitable depends on prescription stability, corneal thickness and shape, tear film and overall eye health — all measured before anything is recommended.
- Suitability is individual; some people are better served by glasses, lenses or other options.
- Risks, limitations and realistic expectations are discussed openly.
- Both LASIK consultations and follow-up happen at the clinic’s Mumbai branches.
- May address
- Myopia · Hyperopia · Astigmatism
- Key checks
- Prescription stability · Cornea · Tear film
- Typical age
- Adults with a stable prescription
- Outcome
- Reduced dependence on glasses
LASIK does not guarantee freedom from glasses. Individual suitability varies and is confirmed only after examination.
Retina & Glaucoma
Protecting sight that cannot be restored once lost.
Glaucoma damages the optic nerve, usually through raised eye pressure, and rarely gives early symptoms. Retinal conditions can present as flashes, floaters or distortion. Both call for early detection and consistent monitoring.
- Eye-pressure and optic-nerve checks are part of routine examination after 40 or with a family history.
- Glaucoma management uses drops, laser or surgery depending on type and stage, with lifelong follow-up.
- New flashes, floaters or a shadow in vision should be examined promptly.
- Glaucoma
- Often no early symptoms
- Detected by
- Pressure · Optic nerve · Visual field
- Managed with
- Drops · Laser · Surgery
- Retina red flags
- Flashes · Floaters · Shadow
Vision lost to glaucoma cannot be reversed; the goal of treatment is to slow or control progression.
Vision through every stage of life
Eye care that changes with you.
The concerns that bring people to an ophthalmologist shift over the decades. These are common associations, not rules — any symptom at any age deserves an examination.
Early examinations shape how vision develops.
Children rarely report that they cannot see well. Routine eye examinations check for refractive errors, squint and lazy eye at a stage when treatment is most effective — no letter-reading required for younger children.
Diagnostic precision
Precision starts with the right diagnosis.
Treatment decisions at Parekh Eye Clinic follow a structured examination. Each check answers a specific question about your eyes, so the recommendation you receive is based on measurements, not assumptions.
- 01
Vision & refraction
How clearly each eye sees, and the exact glasses or lens power that corrects it.
- 02
Eye pressure
Measured as part of routine screening — raised pressure is a key glaucoma risk and has no early symptoms.
- 03
Front of the eye
Cornea, lens and surrounding structures examined under magnification for cataract, corneal and surface conditions.
- 04
Back of the eye
Retina and optic nerve assessed for changes linked to glaucoma, diabetes and age-related conditions.
- 05
Eye coordination
How the two eyes work together — important for children, squint and double vision.
- 06
Measurements for treatment
Where surgery or LASIK is being considered, corneal measurements and lens calculations plan the procedure around your eye.
